# Card types

This guide explains the different card types supported by Corpay, how they are used, how they are linked, and the key identifiers and restrictions associated with each car.

### **1. Standalone EV RFID Card (Tag or Chip)**

A standalone EV card is a **single card used only for EV charging**. It can be issued as:

* **RFID Tag**, or
* **RFID Chip card**

There is **no parent fuel or Travelcard card** associated with this model.

**Key Characteristics**

* Used exclusively for **EV charging**
* Supports **RFID-based authentication**
* No fuel pumping capability
* No magnetic stripe usage
* Common PAN pattern: NL‑TCE‑\*, NL‑TBE‑\*, NL‑TDE‑\* depending on country

**Typical Use Case**

* EV-only fleets
* Customers who do not require fuel or value-added services

### **2. Dual Card (Travelcard Parent + EV RFID Child)**

A Dual Card consists of **two linked cards**:

* **Parent card**: Travelcard‑branded fuel card
* **Child card**: EV RFID card (Tag or Chip)

Both cards belong to the same vehicle but serve **different purposes**.

**Capabilities**

* **Parent (Travelcard card)**
  * Fuel purchases
  * VAS services (e.g. car wash via magnetic stripe)
* **Child (EV RFID card)**
  * EV charging via RFID

**Key Characteristics**

* Parent card typically has a **30XXXX PAN**
* Child EV RFID card typically has an **NL‑TCE‑**\* PAN
* Cards are logically linked in the Corpay system
* Fuel and EV usage are separated by card type

**Typical Use Case**

* Mixed fleets (ICE + EV)
* Customers requiring both fuel and EV charging on the same vehicle

### 3. EV Service Card (EV + VAS, No Fuel)

An EV Service Card is **not a fuel card**, but combines:

* **EV charging via RFID chip**
* **VAS services (e.g. car wash)** via magnetic stripe

**What it Supports**

* EV charging
* VAS subscription services
* Fuel pumping (not supported)

**Card Structure**

* **Child EV RFID PAN**: NL‑TCE‑\*
* **Parent VAS PAN**: 30XXXX (used only for VAS / magstripe)

**Typical Use Case**

* EV fleets that require EV charging and car wash
* No fuel usage allowed by design

## Vehicle Linking

All Corpay EV cards are always linked to a vehicleRegNumber (license plate)

The vehicle registration number is the **primary anchor** for:

* Card lifecycle
* Transaction attribution
* Fleet reporting and compliance

## Understanding Card Identifiers

Each card has multiple identifiers used for different purposes. These are often confused, so the distinction is important.

**Primary Visual Card Number**\
The primary number a user sees and enters when lodging a card.

**Rules**

* **Dual card** → Parent card number
* **Standalone EV card** → EV RFID card number
* **EV Service card** → Parent VAS card number

**Purpose**

* Card verification
* Card lodging into apps or portals

***

**Secondary Card Number**\
The EV-specific card number when an EV card is configured as a **child**.

**When Used**

* Only applicable for **Dual Card** or **EV Service Card**
* Represents the **EV RFID PAN**

***

**CardIdentifier**\
A **system-generated unique identifier** for each card in the Corpay backend.

**Characteristics**

* Not visible on the physical card
* Used internally by Corpay services
* Remains constant even if card numbers change

**Purpose**

* API integration
* Card management
* Reporting and lifecycle tracking

**3.4 KeyIdentifier (EV Cards Only)**\
A unique identifier required to lodge an EV card into an EV charging application.

**Important Notes**

* Applies only to **EV RFID cards**
* Used by EV platforms and apps
* Enables secure EV card enrolment

***

**4. Card Restrictions**

Corpay supports **two distinct types of restrictions** that can be applied at card level.

***

**4.1 Fuel Restrictions**

Fuel restrictions define **what type of fuel (if any)** can be purchased.

**Example**

* Fuel restriction: **“Alleen Diesel – geen Premium”**
  * ✅ Diesel allowed
  * ❌ Petrol, premium fuels, or other fuel types blocked

**Applies To**

* Fuel cards
* Dual card parent cards

***

**4.2 Non‑Fuel (Extras) Restrictions**

Non‑fuel restrictions control **additional purchasable products**.

**Example**

* Extras restriction set to **AdBlue**
  * ✅ AdBlue purchase allowed
  * ❌ All other non-fuel extras blocked

**Applies To**

* Fuel cards
* EV Service cards (VAS only)
